D.B.M.S English School hosted the 6th Inter School Maths Quiz Contest “Number Ninjas” on 18th January 2024. This quiz was launched as an initiative of our patron, Mrs. Bhanumathi Neelakantan.
The quiz master for the day was Mr. Vinay Mudaliar who is renowned for hosting Television Quiz shows and founding one of India’s Premier Quiz venture Mindcogs. This quiz is for the students of Std. VII & VIII. Around 18 schools participated in the Preliminary round, where their Maths skills were tested over a wide spectrum. 6 teams qualified for the finals.
They were:
- Loyola School
- Little Flower School
- Kerala Samajam Model School
- Sacred Heart Convent School
- Hill Top School
- Motilal Nehru Public School
The Quiz comprised 5 rounds. The children were quizzed on a wide array of logical and challenging puzzles, wherein their ability with numbers and problem-solving skills were put to test. They had to exercise their grey cells to battle it out for the top spot. It was truly a fun, engaging and interactive quiz which was enjoyed by both the participants and the audience.
The Quiz was witnessed by the member of the School Management Committee, Principal Mrs. Rajani Shekhar, Vice-Principal Mr. P. K. Sahu without whose able guidance and encouragement, this Quiz would not have been possible.
- Kerala Samajam Model School emerged as the winner in a closely fought contest, with 65 points.
- The Second place was bagged by Sacred Heart Convent School, with 50 points.
- In the Third place was Hill Top School, with 31 points.
