The Annual Prize Night (VII- XII) of D.B.M.S. English School was held on the 27th April, 2024. On this splendid occasion, the school reverberated with the remarkable achievements and exuberant spirit of the students in myriad fields of excellence.
The wonderful evening was graced by the presence of Dr. Sudhir Rai, GM, Medical Services, Tata Steel Ltd.
Yuvraj Sethi of Std. XII A, made the audience aware of the safety rules. The introduction of the program was given by Shrishti Rani of Std. XII A and N. Vidisha of Std. XII D. This was followed by the academic procession of the rankers. Mrs. Divya Nair, the Co-ordinator of the High School led the rankers of Standard VIII and IX. Mrs. Manisha Bhattacharya, Co-Ordinator of the Plus Two Level led the rankers of Standard X and Standard X Special Awardees. Awardees of Standard XI, XII and General Special Awardees were led by the School Principal Mrs. Rajani Shekhar and Vice-Principal Mr. P.K. Sahu.
The proceedings of the evening began with the welcome speech given by Shristi Rani of Std. XII A which was followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest. This was followed by a beautiful dance put up by our students.
The Chief Guest was introduced to the audience and a plant was presented to him as a token of appreciation. Thereafter, our Honourable Principal Mrs. Rajani Shekhar presented the school report highlighting the achievements of the school in varied fields of brilliance. Harshit Verma, an ex- student of D.B.M.S. English School, was felicitated by our Principal Mrs. Rajani Shekhar for securing AIR-272 in the UPSC CSE.
Then came the much awaited moment for the proud awardees. Standard XII Special Awardees were awarded by the Chief Guest. The award for Proficiency in English, Chemistry and Computer Science was received by Priyanshu Chakraborty of Std. XII A. The Shahji Memorial Trophy for Proficiency in Hindi was received by Jahanvi Agarwal of Std. XII C. The awards for Proficiency in Mathematics and Physics were received by Arunesh Gadia of Std. XII A. The award for Proficiency in Biology was received by Ifrah Samina of Std. XII B. The award for Proficiency in Accounts, Economics and Commerce was received by Shatam Chakraborty of Std. XII C. The Achievement Award for a maximum increase in the year’s average total from Std. XI to XII was received by Parnika Kumar of Std. XII A. The Best Athlete Award was jointly received by Satyam Kumar of Std. XII C and Sagarika Sharma of XII C. The award for Excellence in Sports was received by Satyam Kumar of Std. XII C. The All Rounder Award for the Science Section was received by Anant Jain of XII B.
Thereafter, an enlightening speech by the Chief Guest inspired students to excel in their lives and to make their Alma Mater proud by leaving an indelible mark in their chosen field. The Chief Guest was presented a memento.
The rankers of Standard VIII A, B and C were awarded by Mrs. Divya Nair. Rankers of Standard VIII D, E and IX A were awarded by Mrs. Manisha Bhattacharya. Rankers of Standard IX B, C and D were awarded by Mrs. Archana Ramesh, Secretary of the School Management Committee. Rankers of Standard IX E, X A and X B were awarded by Mrs. Priya Nagrajan, Joint Secretary of the School Management Committee. Rankers of Standard X C, D and E were awarded by Mrs. Lalitha Sheshadri, Treasurer of the School managing committee.
This was followed by the Secretary’s Report, which was presented by Mrs. Archana Ramesh, Secretary of the School managing committee.
The chairperson of the school managing committee, Mrs. Lalitha Chandrashekhar and Mr. B Chandrashekhar gave away the Std. X, special awards. The G. Madhav Prabhu Memorial Trophy for General Proficiency in Std. X was received by Priyanshu Kundu of Std. X D. The award for Proficiency in English was received by Priyanshu Kundu of Std. X D. The award for Proficiency in Hindi was received by Samridhi Shikha of Std. X B. The award for Proficiency in Mathematics was received by Shaurya Shah of X E. The award for Proficiency in Physics was received by Mayank Raj of Std. X A. The award for Proficiency in Chemistry was shared by Priyanshu Kundu of X D and Shaurya Shah of X E. The award for Proficiency in Biology was received by Jesvin Nagi of Std. X E. The award for Proficiency in History was shared by Mayank Raj of Std. X A and Samridhi Shikha of Std. X B. The award for Proficiency in Geography was received by Ishan Basak of Std. X E. The award for Computer Applications was received by Mayank Raj of Std. X A. The Vittal Pai Memorial Shield for General Knowledge was received by Shafaq Ahmed Reza Khan of Std. X D. The Kishore Pai Memorial Trophy for Cultural Attainment was received by Shubho Ghosh of Std. X D. The Kishore Pai Memorial Trophy for Excellence in Sports in the I.C.S.E. Level was received by Richa Arvind Singh of Std. X D. The Best Athlete Award was received by Richa Arvind Singh of X D. The Achievement Award for securing maximum increase in the year’s total from Std. IX to Std. X was received by Ridhi Agarwal of Std. X E. The All Rounder Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- for the Best Student of Std. X for excellence in Academics, Sports and Co-curricular Activities was received by Richa Arvind Singh of Std. X D. The Special Recognition Ranker Award was shared by Ayush Raj of Std. X C and Priyanshu Kundu of Std. X D.
The Std. XI special awards were given away by the vice principal of the school, Mr. P.K. Sahu. The award for Proficiency in Hindi was received by P. Khyatishree of XI C. The award for Proficiency in Physics was received by Y.B. Siddharth of XI A. The Award for Chemistry was received by Y.B. Siddharth of XI A. The Award for Biology was received by Anushka Kumari of XI B. The award for scoring the highest marks in Mathematics was received by Y.B. Siddharth of XI A. The Award for scoring the highest marks in Economics was received by N. Vidisha of XI D. The Award for scoring highest in Accountancy was received by Mridul Agarwal of XI C. The award for scoring the highest marks in Computer Science in Std. XI was shared by Nikunj Agarwal of Std. XI A and Shivam Kedia of XI A. The trophy for Commerce was bagged by P. Khyatishree of XI C. The Award for scoring the highest marks in English was received by Shrishti Rani of XI A.
The General Special awards were given by the Principal, Mrs. Rajani Shekhar. The V.P. Upadhyay Memorial Shield for scoring the highest marks in the I.C.S.E. Examination in the year 2022-23 was received by Shiksha Banka. The award for scoring highest marks in the I.S.C. Examination of the year 2022-23 from the Science Stream was bagged by Kumar Sujal. The award for scoring the highest marks in the I.S.C. Examination of the year 2022-23 from the Commerce Stream was shared by Tanisha Agarwal and Ishita Singh. The Best Speaker Award was received by Vritti Agarwal of IX A. The Award for the Best Student of Std. VIII was shared by Stuti Kabra of VIII B and Adrika Chandra of VIII C. The Award for the Best Student of Std. IX was bagged by Kumar Avinash of IX E. The Special Trophy went to Std. X D for the Maximum Players in the School Team. The coveted trophy for the Best House went to the Blue House.
Thereafter, Anant Jain, Vice President of the School Senate, presented the Valedictory speech. On this grand occasion, three teachers were also felicitated by the Chairpersons Mrs. Lalitha Chandrashekhar and Mr. B Chandrashekhar as well as the Principal Mrs. Rajani Shekhar for their long service and commitment to the school. The proud recipients of this award were Mrs. Bhuvna Shridhar, Mrs. Neelam Sinha and Mrs. Mousumi Tripathi.
Thereafter, the vote of thanks was proposed by Tanav Ringsia. This grand evening came to an end with the rendition of the school anthem and the academic procession leading out.
